Zenetti is the first wheel company to utilize Friction Stir Welding (FSW), a technique commonly used in aerospace, to assemble multi-piece wheels that maximize weight-saving. With over 5 years of investment and trial and error,  we are able to manufacture wheels that are lighter, stronger and offer more precise fitments.

OUR UNIQUE PROCESS

Our barrel is strengthened through the process of roll forged. The stock is “squeezed” through two curved dies rotating in opposite directions, similar to cloth through a wringer. The process elongates the barrel’s grain structure and aligns its grain flow. The result is greater impact strength, fatigue resistance and reduction in overall weight.

The lightweight forged barrel starts to take form as we roll, weld and shape the aluminum. The forged aluminum sheet is cut into appropriately sized segment and rolled into the shape of a cylinder. The edges of the cylinder are joined together with Friction Stir Welding. A roller presses into one side of the barrel to create the shape of the inner lip

Step3

Using our process of Friction Stir Welding, the low pressure cast face is fused with our infinity barrel. A seamless join is created to ensure the highest quality. The final product is a performance luxury wheel far exceeding what is currently available in the automotive aftermarket.
